I am creating a logo design course… and I’d love to get some input from my audience. Here’s a bit of background. I love to design logos! It’s so satisfying to work one-on-one and help my clients turn their thoughts and ideas into bold, visual logo designs to tell their business stories.
I belong to a number of groups, both local and online, where I see logo designs that cover a broad range – from no logo to do-it-yourself, freelance to ad agency designed. The results are as varied as the costs, which range from nothing to thousands of dollars. There is no one-size-fits-all, and there shouldn’t be. Everyone has different business needs, and there are many options for logo designs.
I am creating a guided logo design course to help entrepreneurs and small businesses learn about the logo design process I follow. Students will dig deep to discover what they want from their logo design, how to research and compare ideas, review logo elements, and create their own concepts.
So far my course outline includes exploring questions about logo design:
- Why do you want or need a logo design?
- Who are your customers?
- What are the goals of your logo design?
- How and where will you use your logo design?
The course will also cover where inspiration comes from, and how to turn it into design ideas. Plus, reviews of fonts, colors, shapes, and creating concept sketches. Finally, students will turn sketches over to me for professional logo designs to be created – OR – create their own logo designs with my professional feedback and guidance.
I realize this course won’t appeal to or be needed by everyone this reaches, and it shouldn’t because everyone is in a different place in their business. But if this logo design course sounds like a good idea to you, I’d love to get your feedback or have a conversation! Here’s a link to fill out a survey, or please email me if you wouldn’t mind answering a series of questions one-on-one about the logo design course. I’m also looking for beta testers to take the logo design course when it’s ready, in return for feedback and testimonials.
